Dr Phillip Lee MP: Speaks Up on Leisure Provision in Bracknell Constituency
Dr Phillip Lee MP for Bracknell constituency spoke about the outstanding leisure centres and sports centres in Bracknell, Crowthorne, Finchampstead and Sandhurst in the Community Sports Facilities Debate in the House of Commons on Wednesday the 1st of February 2012.
Dr Lee pointed out that it is necessary to keep healthy in order to survive the increasing demands by an ageing population, changing demographics and more expensive treatment. He also spoke about the importance of competitive sports to education to prepare children to the realities of life. He commented: “My constituency is a model of how communities can engage in and support sport, financially and through participation. The well-being of the community is much enhanced in the process. Sport and the provision of community sports facilities can lead to better health, behaviour and community spirit.”
