Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell constituency, is supporting the launch of Chance to be Chancellor 2012 and is calling on schools and young people in Bracknell constituency to take up in the challenge to learn about, and share their opinions on, Budget 2012.  Run by the Citizenship Foundation, in partnership with Aviva, Chance to be Chancellor is open to all 14-18 year olds across the UK.

Running until the 20th February, participants can enter into a national competition to win great prizes and visit HM Treasury in London.

Dr Lee commented: “I am supporting this campaign because I would like to see more young people engage in politics.  I believe that this is a great opportunity for young politics-lovers to get a chance to experience a day as a Chancellor.”

Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell, visited Crowthorne Church of England Primary School, this Monday 28th of November 2011. The Church of England Primary School is aiming at providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. The atmosphere within the school is happy and secure, encouraging eagerness to learn, and the aspiration to achieve. The school values the contribution of every member of the school community promoting respect, tolerance and care.

Dr Lee commented: “Crowthorne Church of England Primary School is a great school with happy children. Children are our future so engaging local schools and young people is hugely important to me, and vital to the future prosperity and happiness of Bracknell constituency.”

This week Government & Politics A-level students from Bracknell and Wokingham College visited Parliament before meeting Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell, for a Question and Answer session.

20 ambitious politics students grilled their MP this week on 31st of October 2011. Questions ranged from how he became a Member of Parliament, to why he became a Conservative Party member, his views on the European Union and his plans to promote young people’s interests in Parliament.  The event was designed to encourage young people to have an opportunity to ask politicians about local and national issues that were important to them.

Dr Lee commented: “It was great to meet students from Bracknell and Wokingham College. They all showed a genuine interest in politics and appeared impressed by the Parliamentary Estate buildings. I greatly enjoyed their tough questioning.”

Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell, attended the opening of the new Jennett’s Park Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School in Bracknell with the Education Secretary of State, Michael Gove and the Bishop of Reading on Friday the 14th of October 2011.

The school serves the residents of Jennett’s Park housing development, south west of Bracknell town centre and allows 210 pupils to attend the school. By 2012, the school will expand to two-form entry and will offer 420 places for four to 11 year olds.

Dr Lee commented: “I am excited to see the opening of the New Jennett’s Park Primary School. The new school will undoubtedly become the heart of the community.”

Dr Phillip Lee, MP for Bracknell, visited Crown Wood Primary School on Friday the 7th of October 2011. Dr Lee met with  3rd year primary school students and the head of Crown Wood Primary School, to witness the new building increasing the capacity and numbers of school places around Bracknell.

Dr Lee commented: “I am very impressed by the new building at the school and the children’s very good behaviour. Also, the new head of school impressed me greatly. ”
