Continuing the monthly Top Ten listing habit, today I have compiled my favourite travel destinations to date. I have always enjoyed travelling so drawing up a final list of ten was difficult. There were a few places ‘bubbling under’: Doubtful Sound in New Zealand, Udaipur in India and the cities of Rome and Istanbul.

Petra, Jordan

Tokyo

Jerusalem

New York

Vancouver

Copenhagen

Hanoi

Beirut

Hong Kong

Aitutaki, Cook Islands

As promised, I have compiled my Top Ten films.

The Godfather (I & II) – I always watch these films back-to-back. Quite simply an outstanding motion picture. Script, actors, locations. Fantastic.

Blazing Saddles – Mel Brooks’ best. Trailer here.

The French Connection – Hackman. Three Degrees. Car chase. Brilliant

Taxi Driver – Atmospheric thriller. De Niro at his best. Trailer here

Citizen Kane – Still potent over 60 years later. Some fantastic sequences.

From Russia With Love – There had to be a JB movie. This one is my favourite. The opening title sequence remains the best to date.

When Harry Met Sally – I am a big Billy Crystal fan. Great script. Charming cast. Meg Ryan….

All The President’s Men – A must for anyone interested in politics. The two leads are magnificent. Jason Robards steals the show.

An American Werewolf In London – Jenny Agutter…..

The Life Of Brian – Funny. Challenging. Thought-provoking.
